The Opportunity
We are currently looking to add an aspiring Product Manager with a problem-solving mindset in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Director, Operations, the successful candidate will lead the development of our mobile applications and other measurement products. This role is responsible for implementation of business processes and ensuring their success, and being accountable/responsible to ensure appropriate development of technical skills for direct reports. This role will also support various strategic and sales initiatives, including implementing new clients onto our platforms, providing training to internal and external stakeholders.
We are seeking an individual with strong leadership capabilities and operational knowledge that is an adept strategic and critical thinker. The individual will be expected to influence and collaborate with several key stakeholders. This is a vital role in helping achieve Critical Control Technologies vision of helping and improving the business process of measurement for every Oil and Gas operator.
What you'll do
- Lead the development and adoption of all Mobile Applications
- Lead and steward the implementation and execution of key strategic initiatives and drive operational excellence
- Make strategic decisions about project management methodologies & coordinate their execution
- Interface with sales & marketing, software product planning, and channel partners to provide accurate data and analysis to improve market intelligence, software product advancement and promote sales activities.
- Create and deliver relevant reporting for internal stakeholders and department heads to keep tasks and goals on track
- Engage in active problem solving with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to articulate regulatory and industry standard changes and how they affect CCTs software products
- Work with the internal stakeholders to identify and make recommendations for the improvement of existing software products and the development of new products and features.
- Coach and mentor team on how to enhance operational excellence
- Provide supervision and guidance across the organization to personnel and departments, working towards accomplishment of the organization's goals and mission
What you bring
- Understanding of oil and gas measurement industry and associated regulations/standards (i.e. Directive 017, EPAP, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) 3175, AGA, GPA, API, etc.)
- Problem solving and strategic thinking with a love of helping; Outstanding project management skills, ability to work cross functionally, and have a track record of achieving the results expected.
- Superior written and oral communication skills, project management skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, people management skills and financial acumen
- Ability to adapt to new environments and changing requirements
- An outgoing person with the ability to consult and provide opinion, facilitate discussion, and resolve conflict, ensuring the most efficient and effective solution is provided.
- A bias toward action / you love to dive in and get stuff done.
Minimum Qualifications
- Post-Secondary education in engineering
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in areas of oil and gas (upstream, midstream, downstream) operations or project management
- Strong leadership skills
