A well-regarded mid-sized firm is seeking an experienced Hybrid LAA/Paralegal to join their team in a key independent role. This position supports a busy practice focused on insolvency, estate litigation, and estate administration. The successful candidate will bring a high level of initiative, judgment, and professionalism to a role that requires both legal and administrative expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, demand letters, petitions, affidavits, notices of application (e.g., conduct of sale, approval of sale), and applications under Section 92
- Prepare and register Certificates of Pending Litigation with the Land Title Office and handle electronic court filings via Court Services Online
- Compose correspondence and compile documentation in support of estate litigation and estate administration matters
- Oversee all procedural steps in foreclosure files, with working knowledge in related areas such as real estate and general litigation
- Track billable time with precision and maintain detailed records
- Address incoming inquiries and manage both internal and external communications
- Assist with trial preparation when required, including organizing materials and timelines
- Carry out a range of administrative and legal support tasks as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a LAA/Paralegal, preferably in insolvency and foreclosure
- Litigation experience is a must
- Strong drafting and document preparation skills with a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent organizational abilities and a proactive approach to prioritizing tasks
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to client service
- Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality
