Location: 13020 Rotary Ave, Regina, SK S4M 0A1, Canada
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM (occasional weekend overtime required)
Compensation: Travel expenses covered for required 2-week offsite training
About the Role:
Client is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist Level 1 to support the implementation and oversight of EHS programs at our Regina, SK facility. This is an on-site role with standard weekday hours and occasional weekend work. A mandatory 2-week training period at another location (with all travel costs covered) is required at the beginning of the assignment.
Responsibilities:
- Support and participate in regular EHS audits and ISO certification processes.
- Maintain EHS records and ensure accurate regulatory reporting.
- Implement emergency response plans, conduct evacuation drills, and manage incident/accident documentation.
- Support the development and delivery of safety training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal EHS regulations, ISO standards, and corporate policies.
- Evaluate EHS risks and communicate implications to internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform basic EHS-related tasks under supervision; escalate complex issues appropriately.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel for the initial 2-week training program.
- Must pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) Certification or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation (Required).
- Experience facilitating safety training programs.
