Position Overview:
The Measurement Gas Electronic PE/PT plays a critical role in supporting natural gas transmission meter station projects, ensuring technical compliance and operational readiness across all phases-from design and procurement through construction and commissioning. This role works cross-functionally with internal teams and external contractors to deliver high-integrity custody transfer measurement systems in alignment with regulatory and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Professional Engineering (PE) or Professional Technologist (PT) designation preferred
- 5+ years of experience in natural gas transmission measurement, design, or commissioning
- Deep knowledge of AGA and API measurement standards and related systems
- Experience with RTUs, SCADA, telecom, OT/IT systems, and industrial instrumentation
- Familiarity with procurement, construction, and project management processes
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple technical tasks and priorities concurrently
Key Responsibilities:
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Project Manager (PM), Engineering Service Providers (ESPs), Regulatory, Safety, Quality, Environmental, Operations, SCADA, IT/OT network teams, and construction teams to align project execution with all requirements.
- Technical Expertise in Measurement Systems: Provide subject matter expertise on custody transfer measurement systems including AGA/API standards, flow measurement elements, gas quality analyzers, instrumentation, station automation (RTUs), pressure controls, electrical systems, UPS, communication systems, and SCADA integration.
- Design & Engineering Oversight: Lead or support design reviews, drawing and construction package evaluations, ensuring field requirements are reflected. Validate engineering deliverables and field confirmations.
- Project Management Support: Support the PM in tracking schedules, managing vendor deliverables, resolving schedule/cost variances, and communicating key project metrics. Maintain tracking tools, dashboards, and other documentation.
- Construction & Commissioning Support: Assist with brownfield implementation planning, modular template development, scope definition, outage coordination, and site-specific engineering input.
- Procurement & Vendor Coordination: Assist in managing procurement tools for tracking purchase orders, deliveries, and invoices for all necessary hardware/software.
- Document Control & Program Documentation: Ensure documentation is accurately filed, stored, and archived. Contribute to the development of procedures, work instructions, field communications, RFIs, and lessons learned.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a technical liaison between regional measurement teams, project controls, fabricators, and contractors, ensuring alignment and resolution of technical queries.
