As a Fiber Installation Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring that customers receive seamless service by expertly installing, configuring, and educating them on their new fiber systems.

In this Role, You Can Expect to:

• Perform in-home installations of fibre optic equipment, including Calix Gigaspire Blast U6.2 routers, Gigapoint 1100x, and WiFi extenders.
• Connect fibre from external terminals to residential properties, including drilling, wiring, and equipment configuration.
• Set up home networks, configure IP addresses, DNS settings, and ensure optimal WiFi performance.
• Provide on-site customer education, including system demonstrations, troubleshooting basics, and answering service-related questions.
• Collaborate with the customer service team to resolve installation issues and document all activities in the company CRM system.
• Attend certain events and activities to answer questions and speak to customers.
• Assist the field operations team with additional tasks as assigned, including service calls and maintenance activities.

What You Need to Succeed:

• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in fiber optic installation, preferably with exposure to Calix equipment.
• A valid Full G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record; driver's abstract will be required.
• Strong physical ability, including the capability to lift equipment, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and operate outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and teammates, both verbally and in writing.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and take initiative during installations.
• Technical aptitude, including an understanding of home networking configurations (IP addressing, router settings, DNS, etc.).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on customer scheduling needs.
• Successful completion of required background checks and drug testing.

Salary Compensation: $25-$29 per hour
