Our client is a global leader in manufacturing custom electromechanical lifting equipment used across North America. Headquartered in Toronto, they're looking for a Structural Engineer to join their fast-moving, collaborative engineering team.
This is your opportunity to play a critical role in high-impact, cross-disciplinary projects - from concept design to stamping, optimization, and production.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead structural engineering for complex, heavy equipment and infrastructure systems
- Create and verify structural calculations (static, connection, stress)
- Design bolted and welded connections using steel, aluminum, and ideally concrete
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and manufacturing teams
- Review and stamp drawings; support field installations and subcontractor coordination
- Optimize designs for strength, weight, and manufacturability
- Mentor junior engineers and support the ethical and technical integrity of the team
- Contribute to R&D and proposal phases with your structural expertise
What You'll Bring:
- 10+ years of structural engineering experience in custom machinery, infrastructure, or manufacturing
- P.Eng designation (Ontario) - must be able to stamp structural drawings
- Expertise in steel and aluminum structural codes: CSA S16, CSA S157, AWS D1.1/D1.2, CSA W47/59
- Skilled in AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, Mathcad, and MS Excel
- Strong command of ANSI/AISC A360 or Canadian equivalent codes
- Field experience in construction or installation highly valued
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
