Job Description Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager oversees the overall revenue responsibility for a designated region in the United States. The RSM manages existing accounts looking for expansion sales opportunities, launch of new products and the opportunity to increase the number of production lines using Rovema Vertical Form Fill Sealers and related equipment for scales, augers, and end-of-line case packers and cartoners.
Additionally, RSMs will lead the new business development efforts within their regions. Working with the Marketing Department and the Business Development Representative that supports the Sales team
The RSMs will develop knowledge of customer distribution, retail and market conditions and use this knowledge to identify future opportunities for Rovema by anticipating customer needs.
The RSMs have a $5M annual quota for new equipment sales.
Critical Functions
Leads the territory development selling efforts in identifying sales opportunities in all industries by providing expedient, accurate and complete customer and market data, as well as communicating, selling and closing orders to insure that Rovema achieves a leading position in the markets it chooses to serve.
- Learns the entire Rovema solution set for VFFS and end of line solutions. Uses this knowledge to ensure that existing customers know the full value of the Rovema solutions.
- Uses this product knowledge to penetrate new accounts and displace competitors.
- Works with Rovema team members in Engineering and Design to oversee the architecture of a custom solution that meets the customer's requirements.
- Utilizes resources in Germany (Corporate HQ and manufacturing site) to develop sales proposals, pricing and the delivery of an engineering guarantee that specifies the bags per minute and production capabilities of the solution.
- Achieve the revenue quota for new bookings at a profitable margin.
- Develops and implements "Business Solution" based sales strategies using discovery skills and the Rovema Sales Process outlined in the Sales Process Guide.
- Ensures maximum order closing potential by developing effective sales strategies and nurturing key decision makers to meet sales volume objectives, maximize gross margin on each sale and accurately forecast the timing of order closing (bookings month).
- Communicate accurate and complete short and long-term forecasts to ensure accurate capacity and resource planning.
- Ensure accurate and complete customer scope definition and specifications are communicated to the inside sales team.
- Develops and manages relationships with allied suppliers where appropriate, to expand the customer base and maximize market share.
- Actively prospects for and develops new accounts for Rovema products and services.
- Provides market trends, marketing plans and competitive information to support strategic planning efforts, maximize product development efforts and improve resource planning in product line engineering and manufacturing.
- Operates within cost budgets to continually improve selling costs as a percent of sales.

Compensation for the Regional Sales Manager-
This role includes a base salary of $80,000 to $95,000 and a commission plan that escalates to 3% with no cap on maximum earnings.
Expenses- All travel and sales related expenses are reimbursable.
Benefits- This full-time position includes full health benefits.
Travel- This position requires travel to visit customers and to attend training and corporate events in Fernwald, Germany. Estimated travel percentage is 25%-50%.
Education / Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Demonstrated sales effectiveness with a track record of consistent goal achievement and sales revenue growth.
- Strong business acumen necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Able to interact with all levels of employees, management, and external customers.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (Germany)
