Position: Team Manager - Office of the Member of Parliament for Pontiac-Kitigan Zibi

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for this Team Manager role is someone with at least three years of experience in team management. They are strategic, proactive, and results-driven, with the ability to see the big picture while ensuring rigorous execution of priorities. They possess strong leadership and analytical skills and are recognized for their sound judgment, ability to anticipate needs, solve problems, and make informed decisions.

The ideal candidate also have strong communication skills, both strategic and operational, enabling them to convey clear, engaging messages tailored to diverse audiences.

Fluency in both French and English is essential. The candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of team dynamics, political acumen, and the ability to translate vision into concrete action plans. Experience in a political or community-based environment is a strong asset.

The role requires autonomy and flexibility, including the ability to travel within the Pontiac-Kitigan Zibi riding. This means having access to a vehicle and being able to drive to places such as Fort-Coulonge or Maniwaki when needed. The candidate must also be available to work some evenings and weekends based on operational needs.

Salary

The salary range is between $75,000 and $100,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Set strategic, results-oriented priorities for the office, including communication strategies.
  • Coordinate the team's work and ensure every member reaches their full potential and contributes effectively to team goals.
  • Identify opportunities, anticipate challenges, and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure alignment across the office's various functions: communications, constituent services, constituency office management, and logistical organization.
  • Advise the Member of Parliament on internal orientations based on political context and on-the-ground needs.
  • Structure internal processes to maximize team efficiency.
  • Promote a healthy work environment and foster team engagement.
  • Perform other related tasks supporting the strategic management of the office.

Skills

  • Minimum of three years of experience managing human and material resources.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and implement a vision.
  • Strong, motivational leadership focused on collaboration and performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, diplomacy, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong stress management, priority-setting abilities, and comfort in a demanding work environment.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) with excellent writing skills.
  • Proficient with digital tools including social media platforms.
  • Discretion, integrity, and attention to detail.

Education and Experience

  • University degree in a relevant field, or significant experience in team, project, or strategic planning management.
  • Degrees in business, law, accounting, engineering, political science, administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

All prospective MP staff must obtain and maintain the required level of security clearance.
