Position Purpose:
- To assess, monitor and manage the collateral held and pledged by the Royal Bank of Canada in accordance with the ISDA Master and CSA Agreements
- Mitigation of counterparty credit risk through the fulfillment of RBC's variation and initial margin requirements
- Act as a first line of defense to the trading business, ensuring accurate books and records are maintained while providing a seamless client experience
Key Accountabilities:
Variation and Initial Margin Requirements
- Validating and ensuring all margin calls are issued on a timely basis and perform end to end margin processes
- Ensure agreement and transfer of eligible credit support within specified timeframe in accordance to the terms of the CSA
- Management of collateral inventory (non-cash) positions to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill daily margin requirements
- Instruct and approve collateral movements via SWIFT/email and or FAX
- Perform cash forecasting as required intra-day
- Perform portfolio and collateral reconciliations with counterparties
- Escalate all issues as per agreed terms and standing orders
- Responding to inquiries on a timely basis
Operational Controls and Reporting
- Involved in business user testing for enhancements and system integration
- Operational onboarding of new and/or existing counterparties for applications and services related to the collateral management process
- Updating of procedure documents as required
- Ensuring client data is accurately maintained in collateral management system and other documents as required
- Assist in preparation of margin requirement/funding report and other ad-hoc reports as required
Administrative
- Respond to audit request
- Provide extended coverage during absence of team members (e.g. vacation)
Knowledge & Experience:
- 1 to 4 years experience in financial industry preferably Capital Markets
- Understanding of RBFG risk policies and standing order
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite (adept in Excel)
- Knowledge of Capital Market products, trade systems and business lines
- Working knowledge of derivative products and related documentations
