Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead to join their growing company.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Electrical/CAD design.
- Provide technical guidance on electrical systems and control panels
- Assign tasks and schedule team workloads
- Monitor job performance and identify training and career development needs
- Update the Engineering Manager and Project Management Team on project status.
- Collaborate with teams in North America, Europe, and Asia on electrical designs.
- Prepare, review, and approve drawings, bills of materials, and other engineering documents.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering codes, and standards.
- Issue technical documents and drawing packages for manufacturing.
- Support internal teams (Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Quality) and external clients
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and operational discussions
- Ensure electrical control panels meet regulatory and quality standard
- Assist in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems remotely and on-site.
- Ensure a safe workplace and compliance with safety laws, regulations, and company policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SEE Electrical and/or SOLIDWORKS Electrical
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial working experience with a focus on power systems, control systems and automation.
- Working knowledge with PLC programming is preferred.
- Familiar with the following codes and standards is preferred: o Canadian Electrical Code, CSA 22.1, CSA 22.2No.14, 25, 30 o NFPA 70, 496 o UL 508, 508A, 698, 698A o Applicable IEC standards for both unclassified area and hazardous area (IEC 60079-0 & 60079-1) o ATEX, Low Voltage, EMC directives
- Strong written, communication skills and the ability to work in a cross- functional team environment.
- Knowledge of ERP systems used in manufacturing is preferred.
