Title: Stress Engineer
Location: Dorval, Quebec, CA
Job Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled Stress Engineer. The role involves performing Static stress analysis, reviewing customer-provided inputs, and preparing technical documentation in compliance with customer's standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in structural analysis, repair methodologies, and stress assessment tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Review & Analyze Inputs: Assess customer-provided data, including damage details and repair solutions.
Damage Identification: Locate and map damage within structural drawings.
Certification Baseline Study: Analyze and understand the static analysis approach used in certification baseline reports.
Static Stress Analysis for Repair Activities: Conduct static repair analysis by leveraging methods established in baseline certification reports. Load/stress averaging is an acceptable approach. Structural components may include primary, secondary, systems, and system installations.
Utilization of Analysis Tools: Apply industry-standard tools to support analysis and reporting, including:
o MSC PATRAN
o NASTRAN
o Microsoft Word & Excel
Report Preparation: Document static stress analysis results per customer standards, utilizing Word templates and Excel spreadsheets.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of aircraft structural analysis and repair methodologies.
Experience with static stress analysis and certification compliance.
Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) tools like MSC PATRAN & NASTRAN.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess structural challenges and develop reliable repair solutions.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with customer structural standards and certification requirements.
Communication & Documentation: Strong technical writing skills for preparing detailed stress reports in compliance.
