Job Title: Electrical Apprentice (3-4 Years Experience)

Location: Abbotsford

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Electrical Division Manager / Electrical Foreman

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Electrical Apprentice with 3-4 years of hands-on experience in commercial or industrial environments. The ideal candidate will assist journeyman with installations, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, while continuing to learn the trade and complete your electrical apprenticeship. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial or industrial buildings.
  • Pull wire, install conduit, and assist with panel terminations under supervision.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical codes.
  • Perform routine inspections and tests to ensure systems are functioning properly.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and clients.
  • Support senior electricians with troubleshooting and project completion.
  • Document work completed and report any issues or hazards encountered.

Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of experience as an electrical apprentice in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Enrolled in or completed a registered apprenticeship program (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and local electrical codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and construction drawings.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, motors, and controls.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools used in the electrical trade.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (heights, confined spaces, outdoor conditions).

Preferred Certifications (Not Required):

  • 1st and 2nd Year Construction Electrical Apprenticeship
  • Valid Driver's License
