Title - Transborder Agent

Location - Saint-Laurent, QC H4S 1V2

Salary - $70,000-$80,000/ annually

Language Requirement - Bilingual (English and French)

Experience Required - Ground and rail freight experience

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Transborder Agent to join our team and coordinate cross-border freight forwarding operations. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and proactive logistics professional with strong experience in ground and rail transportation. This role involves overseeing shipment lifecycles, maintaining customer satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with transportation procedures and client agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and analyze customer orders to identify transportation needs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external carriers to ensure timely pick-up and delivery of shipments.
  • Open and manage shipment files; input data into operational systems in compliance with ISO standards.
  • Reserve transportation space and follow up with carriers to confirm shipment schedules.
  • Communicate shipping details and rate information to suppliers in writing.
  • Provide timely updates to clients and transporters on shipment statuses.
  • Invoice clients, ensuring service charges and costs are applied correctly; validate credit as necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures and meet performance metrics.
  • Handle claims, issue non-conformity notices, and manage customer complaints according to company standards.
  • Participate in required training programs, including the handling of pharmaceutical goods.
  • Support other tasks as directed by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in professional studies or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in freight forwarding and road transport.
  • Proven experience with cross-border (transborder) logistics.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of demand planning and order fulfillment processes.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 software.
  • Excellent data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex information effectively.
  • Experience working with e-commerce platforms is a plus.
  • Understanding of third-party logistics (3PL) operations is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
