As one of our first hires, you'll help build a digital-first legal service that delivers clarity, transparency, and efficiency through a proprietary platform and experienced legal team.

About the Role

As a Law Clerk, you'll manage client files from start to finish-ensuring a smooth, professional, and personalized experience. Working closely with the file's lawyer, you'll handle communications, support channels, and file-related tasks while keeping clients informed every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities

  • File Management - Oversee client onboarding, engagement, and closing
  • Administration - Draft documents, update internal systems, keep the team in sync, gather testimonials
  • Client Support - Respond via phone, email, text, and chat
  • Product Feedback - Act as the client's voice to help improve the Ownright platform

This is a startup role-so flexibility is key. You'll also have the chance to support projects across marketing, culture, finance, and operations.

Qualities that make you a great fit for the role:

  • Adaptable - Comfortable navigating ambiguity, new processes and wearing many hats
  • A Strong Client Communicator - Ability to communicate proactively, clearly, and warmly with clients at every step of the transaction
  • Experience working in Real Estate Law- Demonstrated experience in all types of real estate transactions
  • Process Oriented- Understands standard operating procedures, but willing to learn tools and suggest improvements
  • Ownership mindset - Ownership of full client journey through the transaction
  • Collaborative -works well with others on the team, open to feedback

It would be a bonus if you have

  • Client service or sales experience
  • Familiarity with GSuite, Slack, or similar tools

What We Offer

  • Early team member at a venture-backed startup
  • Competitive salary + Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP)
  • Full benefits package
  • 3 weeks paid vacation, including bank holidays
  • Hybrid work model (WFH + Downtown Toronto office)

Interview Process

  2. Second Interview + Case - 45 minute case interview
  3. Final Interview - 40 min interview
