About the Role
Position: Business Development Manager
Location: Halifax HQ - but will consider remote applicants who demonstrate outstanding experience and qualifications.
As a Business Development Manager at Infusd, you will play a pivotal role in driving top-of-funnel opportunities and accelerating the conversion of our existing pipeline. You will act as the ambassador for Infusd's innovative solutions, engaging directly with partners, customers, and CPG brands, while collaborating closely with our R&D team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Development & Partner Engagement
- Partner Collaboration: Work directly with strategic partners and their sales teams (e.g., Symrise AG, Caldic BV) to increase partnership uptake.
- New Business Development: Proactively canvas new CPG brands, educating them on the benefits and potential applications of Infusd's solutions-ranging from flavored shots and gummies to powdered drink mixes, RTD beverages, and more.
- Industry Representation: Attend and exhibit at key trade shows for food, beverage, and nutritional supplements-either independently or alongside strategic partners.
2. Project & Account Coordination
- End-to-End Project Management: Coordinate projects from inception through to sale closure, including identifying high-impact applications, managing technical briefs and sample coordination with the R&D team.
- Account Support: Provide comprehensive support for select Infusd customer accounts by managing project details, document requests, pricing, and ongoing communications.
- CRM & Reporting: Diligently document all sales activities and customer interactions in our CRM system. Generate and review bi-weekly reports with management, using strict criteria to evaluate each opportunity's position in the sales funnel.
3. Enterprise Partner Training
- Training Development: Design and deliver peer-to-peer training sessions for partner sales reps, ensuring they can:
- Clearly articulate the value proposition of Infusd's technology combined with the partners offerings.
- Effectively uncover customer pain points through targeted questioning.
- Standardized Materials: Develop a master PowerPoint presentation to be used by partner reps, ensuring consistent messaging.
- Performance Monitoring: Engage regularly with partner reps via phone or in-person visits to educate and monitor performance. Implement semi-annual recertification to maintain high sales standards.
- Target Setting: Collaborate with Infusd management and strategic partners to set and monitor sales targets (e.g., win rates, deal sizes, and sales cycle timelines).
What You'll Bring
- Industry Experience: A strong background in enterprise sales within the food, beverage, or nutritional industry, with a deep understanding of ingredients or solubility solutions.
- Network & Expertise: Proven experience or an extensive network in CPG ingredients sales.
- Start-Up Mindset: An affinity for a dynamic, start-up culture that values autonomy, ownership, and proactive relationship management.
- Leadership Skills: Experience in managing or training sales representatives is highly desirable.
- Adaptability & Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate fast-paced environments and engage effectively with diverse, international teams and stakeholders.
Compensation: base salary + commission
