The Opportunity:

As an Analyst / Senior Analyst, you will be a key contributor to our investment process, working closely with Partners, Managing Directors, Principals, and Associates. This role offers a unique opportunity to hone your investment skills, develop sharp business acumen, and gain exposure to diverse industries and complex situations. Responsibilities:

Investment Analysis & Transaction Execution

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of private equity investment opportunities;
  • Execute valuation analyses using DCF, precedent transactions, and comparable company methods;
  • Develop sophisticated financial models to evaluate potential investments.
  • Perform comprehensive due diligence, including financial performance analysis, management team assessment, risk evaluation, and return projections;
  • Engage with company management to assess past performance, strategy, and industry dynamics;
  • Review and analyze third-party due diligence reports (legal, accounting, tax, strategic, environmental); and
  • Prepare and present detailed investment recommendations to the BDG Investment Committee.

Asset Management:

  • Collaborate with portfolio company management teams on strategic and value-creation initiatives;
  • Monitor the financial and operational performance of existing investments.
  • Assist portfolio companies with add-on acquisitions;
  • Contribute to valuation reviews and exit strategy planning;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with portfolio company stakeholders; and
  • Attend annual and board meetings as needed.

Team Development:

  • Participate in recruitment activities, including university outreach, networking, and candidate interviews.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Big 4 Audit/Transaction Services, Commercial Banking, or a similar analytical investment environment;
  • Proven expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence;
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities;
  • CFA, CPA, CBV, or CAIA designation(s) or in process would be considered an asset; and
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
