SAP HCM Specialist

Overview
An Ideal person who would bring in functional IT SAP HCM payroll experience with a proven track record in implementing projects and production Support. The candidate should have vast experience in Canada gross to net payroll including tax, tax reporting, legal changes, financial posting, third party remittance, Various private and public benefit plans, Garnishment. The candidate should be well versed in modifying, creating payroll rules /sub schemas for both payroll and time evaluation. The candidate should work as a SME among IT, Business and Vendors. Work directly with vendor support team to ensure SLAs are met. Independently resolve issues related to SAP payroll using IMG and SAP best practice. Review FD/FMD/TD/Configuration rationale. Engage with IT leads and business as needed for pursuit efforts. Engage with delivery teams for new projects and applications that need to be transitioned to baseline support. Engage NA IT and NA payroll/finance business teams to resolve issues related to NA payroll system.

Responsibilities
- Support and enhance SAP HCM Payroll and Time Management for North America.
- Configure and maintain payroll schemas, rules, and financial postings.
- Lead resolution of payroll issues and ensure compliance with tax/legal updates.
- Collaborate with IT, business teams, and vendors to deliver solutions and meet SLAs.
- Review design documents and participate in system upgrades and year-end activities.
- Identify improvement opportunities and support new projects and transitions to production.
- Provide expertise and mentorship within the payroll support team.
Qualifications
- 12-15 years of SAP HCM Payroll experience, including support and project delivery.
- Expertise in SAP Payroll (U.S. and Canada), Time Management, Benefits, and Garnishments.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, compliance, and financial posting processes.
- Skilled in SAP configuration (schemas, rules, functions) and troubleshooting.
- Experience coordinating with vendors, business teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and manage priorities independently.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- SAP Certification and SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll experience are a plus.
