Our client is a leading freight forwarding company specializing in customized project logistics services across North America. With a core focus on special cargo and global project forwarding they provide reliable international transportation solutions by air, sea, and land. The company prides itself on delivering customer satisfaction through tailored services and an integrated approach throughout the entire project cycle.

To support continued growth our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Freight Forwarding Operations Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day activities for the transportation of goods from the port of destination to the final consignee. This role requires effective communication with sea and air freight carriers, co-loaders, truckers, customs brokers, and other vendors to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Daily Operations Management: Oversee and manage all daily activities related to the transportation of goods, ensuring timely and efficient delivery

Vendor Communication: Maintain effective communication with sea and air freight carriers, co-loaders, truckers, customs brokers, and other vendors to coordinate transportation logistics

Documentation: Ensure all necessary documentation is prepared and processed accurately to meet shipment requirements

Shipment Tracking: Monitor and update daily shipment status to clients and update transport management tracking systems as required

Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or delays that may arise during shipments, ensuring customer satisfaction

Invoicing and Job Costing: Assist with invoicing and job costing where applicable, ensuring accurate financial records

Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

-At least 3 years of operational knowledge of air and ocean exports and imports

-Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with vendors and clients

-Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously

-Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve operational issues promptly

-Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and shipment tracking

This role is 100% in the office environment, requiring a strong presence and availability during office hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

- A bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred

- Proficiency in French and English is a plus

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and transportation management software (TMS)
