Director of Operations

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Job Summary:

The Director of Operations oversees the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and profitability. This role is responsible for strategic planning, production management, supply chain coordination, operational excellence initiatives, and cross-functional team leadership to meet company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations, including production, quality control, logistics, maintenance, and supply chain functions.

• Develop and implement operational strategies that drive productivity, improve efficiency, and reduce costs while maintaining high-quality standards.

• Collaborate with executive leadership on business planning, operational goals, and performance metrics.

• Monitor production schedules and adjust resources as needed to meet delivery timelines.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Manage budgets, forecasts, and operational KPIs; report results regularly to the executive team.

• Drive talent development, coaching, and performance management for operations staff and department managers.

• Oversee vendor and supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring supply chain continuity.

• Champion initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction through operational excellence.

• Lead facility expansion projects, technology upgrades, and automation initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in operations leadership within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, supply chain management, and lean methodologies.

• Exceptional leadership, team building, and organizational skills.

• Ability to analyze complex situations, develop solutions, and manage change.

• Proficient in operational software systems (ERP/MRP) and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field. (Master's degree preferred.)
