About the Company

Our client, a reputable law firm is seeking a Bilingual (English/French) Corporate Legal Assistant to join their team in Toronto!

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and revise corporate documentation including incorporations, amendments, dissolutions, annual resolutions, share transactions, and reorganizations.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax-related documents including corporate reorganizations, estate freezes, rollovers, and trust planning.
  • Draft and organize documentation related to tax-driven transactions in collaboration with lawyers and tax professionals.
  • Maintain and update corporate minute books, ledgers, and registers.
  • Coordinate and file corporate documents with government registries (e.g., Corporations Canada, Ontario Business Registry).
  • Assist with due diligence, closings, and the preparation of closing books for tax and corporate transactions.
  • Manage lawyer calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate client communications.
  • Maintain accurate and organized digital and physical files in accordance with legal and firm standards.
  • Support with docketing, time entry, and billing processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Corporate Legal Assistant, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken) is required.
  • Legal Assistant diploma or equivalent training.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with legal document management systems.
  • Experience with Corporate Tax is considered an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters professionally.
