Job Summary:
Hallacon Construction seeks a highly motivated and experienced Sales and Bidding Specialist to join our team. This role is critical to our continued growth and success. The ideal candidate will identify, bid on, and secure new concrete construction projects, focusing on flat floor applications. You will proactively build relationships with potential clients and stay on top of upcoming project opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Lead Generation and Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the commercial and industrial sectors.
Develop strong relationships with general contractors, developers, and key stakeholders.
Actively network within the construction industry to identify potential projects.
Bidding and Estimating:
Review project plans and specifications to develop accurate and competitive bids.
Collaborate with our operations team to ensure bids are realistic and profitable.
Prepare and submit proposals in a timely and professional manner.
Follow up on submitted bids and negotiate contracts.
Market Research and Project Tracking: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the local construction market, including trends, competitors, and upcoming projects. Rack and monitor potential projects using industry-leading project lead services (e.g., Bidding, Construct Connect, etc.).
Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and project opportunities.
Sales and Negotiation: Present the company's capability and services and close the deal.
Qualifications:
Proven track record of success in sales and bidding within the construction industry (concrete experience strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of concrete construction processes, particularly flat floor applications.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
A strong network of contacts within the Edmonton area construction industry is a significant asset.
