Job Description:

H.M.S. Careers is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Sales on behalf of one of our reputable and progressive hotel management company clients. The Director of Sales will be responsible for leading the sales efforts of a large convention or group hotel, driving revenue, and maximizing profitability. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and results-oriented leader with a proven track record of success in the hotel sales industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve hotel revenue goals.
  • Lead and manage a team of sales professionals, providing coaching, training, and mentorship.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities, including group sales, meetings, and events.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients and industry partners.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize profitability.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Prepare and present sales reports to hotel management.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction through effective sales and service strategies.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments, including marketing, catering, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of events and group bookings.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events and trade shows.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Director of Sales at a convention or group hotel.
  • Proven success in leading sales efforts for a hotel with over 15,000 square feet of meeting facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel sales processes, including group sales, contract negotiation, and revenue management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and industry partners.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Ability to analyze market data and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Proficiency in hotel sales software and CRM systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
