Responsibilities:

The Account Director is the central link between Pacific Coast Fruit Products and our customers, facilitating and supporting complementary relationships between multiple departments that create and sustain customer value.

As Account Director, you are as adept at managing and growing share with existing customers as you are at onboarding profitable new customers. Today, your broad customer portfolio is predominantly food and beverage manufacturers, and significant opportunities lie in burgeoning new channels such as nutraceuticals, bakery and snacking.

You bring a professionalism that includes business forecasting and planning, pipeline generation and proactive identification of gaps or risks to budget and creating plans to mitigate or eliminate. Your customer management skills are exemplary.

You have deep knowledge of your customers and their needs, identify product gaps, track performance vs plan, and provide regular customer performance reviews. In addition to ensuring stable existing customer performance, you pursue new business opportunities with focus and discipline and ensure your time and organizational resources are directed to projects of greatest volume and margin.

Accountabilities:

  • Generate sales plans (strategies and tactics) that generate consistent sales volume and margin growth;
  • Identify opportunities for growth with existing customers including growth of current listings as well as leverage new product introductions for incremental volume and margin;
  • Establish penetration plans for prospects; aggressively drive pipeline opportunities through new prospects;
  • Broaden PCFP's relationship penetration with accounts cross functionally as well as with the accounts' senior management;
  • Effectively launch and gain distribution of new products;
  • Provide regular business reviews with accounts to ensure business performance remains on track vs. plan and that issues are dealt with proactively, or when they surface, expeditiously.;
  • Utilize customer feedback and data to provide accurate forecasting to assist in demand planning;
  • Manage the broker network, where applicable, to ensure PCFP receives fair share of attention from the broker; ensure broker is providing fair ROI for fees paid; &
  • Mobilize brokers to ensure customer plans are consistently and effectively executed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum seven years of key account experience with national or large regional account;
  • Commodity Selling Experience an asset;
  • Strong negotiation skills;
  • Well-developed project management skills/experience
  • Strong business and financial acumen: business analytics skills, customer P&L agility, ability to plan;
  • Ability to make fact-based recommendations;
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and find profitable solutions;
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office applications with particularly developed skills in Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Advanced ability to work with and contribute to teams;

Education and Personal Development:

  • University degree in Business, or commensurate experience preferred.
