Account Manager, Group Retirement Services
Location: Hybrid - Burlington , Toronto , Montreal
Empire Life is looking to hire an Account Manager to join our Group Solutions Sales team! As an Account Manager, you will drive sales within a defined territory by developing new Distribution Partners and ensuring Empire solutions are appropriately positioned. The incumbent is guided by defined procedural constraints and works under the broad supervision of the VP, Group Distribution.

What you'll be working on
- Identify, build and develop new and existing relationships with Distribution Partners; Identify high potential accounts and explore, develop and manage mutually beneficial working relationships
- Support GRS sales and service
- Provide information to Distribution Partners on Empire Life products; highlight the benefits and features and guide Distribution Partners in the determination and understanding of product value and fit for customers
- Build relationships within Empire Life in order to leverage organization in servicing Distribution Partners and delegate service issues accordingly
- Represent the Empire Life brand through regular interaction with Distribution Partners
- Establish quote guidelines including the monthly subsidy direction for internal stakeholders; work collaboratively on the application of subsidy within established parameters; ensure implementation and issue concerns are resolved; support the development and execution of business case to support sales decisions
- Work within renewal parameters for internal stakeholders; work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure business is renewed within subsidy guidelines and persistency levels are achieved
- Act as escalation point for internal stakeholders to support the resolution of quote, issue, service and renewal issues
- Manage subsidy and acquisition for assigned block of business; review monthly with internal stakeholders to ensure business is profitable and quotas are achieved
- Identify and develop high potential accounts for transition to sales team members that are aligned to the regional sales business plan
- Ensure sales automation tool is updated and maintained on a timely basis
What we're looking for you to have
- Completion of a university degree
- 3+ years work experience in insurance/financial services industry in group benefits including retirement savings plans with an understanding of Distribution Partner needs
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting principles, technical pricing capabilities and group insurance product and policy provisions
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, internet and database software
- Knowledge of the group insurance products and sales activities of competitors
- Knowledge of employment legislation as it relates to employee benefits
- GBA
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to think logically, analyze and solve problems
- Well-developed communication, negotiation, persuasion and presentation skills
- Well-developed sales and marketing skills
- Ability to communicate information clearly to diverse audiences
- Ability to manage high volume with effective time management skills
- English is required for communicating with English speaking customers, advisors, or employees across Canada.
