We are a growing, family-run drapery and furniture manufacturing company looking for a driven, detail-oriented Estimator to lead our cost estimation and bid preparation processes. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, startup-like environment and wants to help build something from the ground up.

You'll be responsible for performing quantity take-offs, preparing bids and estimates, and collaborating with both our shop and installation crews to keep projects on time and on budget. Your attention to detail and comfort with numbers will be essential in helping us scale effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for drapery, upholstery, and related projects using quantity takeoff software and Microsoft Office.
  • Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs using architectural and engineering scales.
  • Create job-specific material lists and workorders for production staff and job sheets for installation crews.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop accurate budgets and realistic project timelines.
  • Maintain and update unit price libraries and historical cost databases.
  • Identify and implement improvements in estimating processes and workflows.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and vendors to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Assist with managing projects post-award.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with quantity takeoff software and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience preparing construction or production estimates.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, specs, and blueprints.
  • Strong mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience creating detailed documentation for shop and field teams.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Valid driver's license and on-site availability in Richmond, BC (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in drapery, millwork, interior design, or furniture manufacturing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000-$65,000 per year
