On behalf of an Industry leading client in the Food industry we are conducting a search for one very lucky and driven food scientist that is looking for the start to their career

In this role we are looking for recent grads provided you have co-op experience.

Or 1-2 yrs. of experience in food, or pharma.

You likely work in a product development lab.

The ideal candidate will be able to take client direction, assist in developing new product profiles while collecting data during these trials.

We want a candidate who comes to the table with an opinion, don't just collect the data, tell us what it says, be analytical in nature, inquisitive and motivated.

You Must be willing to work in office 5 days a week.

Specific Accountabilities:

• Support the development of new products from concept to launch.
• Participate in product evaluation
• Assist in product testing,
• Create lab samples of new or existing products to get approval.
• Collaborate with suppliers and co-manufacturers to ensure quality standards and ingredient sourcing.
• Participate in the planning and organization of plant trials, record and analyze outcome data of production trials.
• Assist in the creation of product specifications, labeling.
• Support the uploading of specifications to customer websites, ensuring all information is complete and up to date for new ingredients and materials.
• Maintain records of product development processes, including testing and evaluation.
• Assist with customer visits/trainings and participate, and inspiration sessions.
• Understand, apply, and actively participate in maintaining health and safety program practices.
• Understand, apply, and actively participate in maintaining product quality and food safety program practices including BRC, HACCP, QA / QC, GMP, Sanitation and good hygiene practices.

Ideal Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year experience in the Food Manufacturing industry, ideally in a Product Development role.
• A degree in a relevant field such as Food Science, Chemistry, Agriculture and Hospitality Management (if the candidate has a focus on food and beverage products).
• Experience assisting in creating new products, including working on formulation (blends), packaging, and testing prototypes.
• Comfort with running Plant Trials, analyzing and presenting data related to product performance, sensory evaluations, and test trial.
• Strong attention to detail, especially when working with product formulations, ingredient sourcing, and quality control.
• Ability to help track the progress of product development timelines, including coordination with cross-functional teams and completion of competitor marketplace analysis.
• Ability to work closely with other departments (marketing, sales, operations, etc.) and with external partners.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting findings, preparing reports, and assisting in the communication of ideas and project progress.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, especially for organizing data, tracking product development progress, and creating presentations.
