The ideal candidate will be experienced in drafting, negotiating, and advising and should have a proven ability to resolve disputes, handle high workloads, and independently manage multiple time-sensitive files while maintaining performance momentum and addressing competing priorities effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with clients and discuss options, strategies, and solutions at key junctures of their case so they understand their options and make informed decision
- Prepare legal documents and pleadings; such as applications, answers, briefs, motion materials, affidavits, etc.
- Prepare clients for hearings and trials
- Attend conferences and trials
Qualifications:
- Ability to handle files from start to finish
- Ability to handle all aspects of files, from intake to resolution, with minimal supervision
- Reliability, organization skills, the ability to prioritize, multitask, and adhere to strict deadlines
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, coworkers, and other professionals
- Ability to prepare clients for questioning, mediations and all court appearances
- Ability to review and prepare materials including pleadings, affidavits, briefs, facta, and other court documents, and to organize disclosure
- Strong research skills
- Effective communication skills
