Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Estimator at Girotti Machine located in St Catharines, ON. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, evaluating costs, and preparing accurate cost estimates for steel processing, industrial equipment, power generation, and marine projects. Additionally, the Estimator will collaborate with various teams to ensure the success and profitability of each project.

The Estimator is self-motivated, and results driven individual who is organized, analytical with exceptional communication and team fostering skills with an eye for detail. As an Estimator, you are committed to providing service & support to our customers and communicating those requirements to our team. As a successful Estimator, you are responsible for working with existing customers to increase our sales, and canvass for new customers to grow our business.

Overall expectations:

• Communicate with customers to determine full scope of their inquires and qualify opportunities to meet company goals.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manual specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, surface finishes and tolerances of finished work pieces.

• Create detailed estimate packages for Customer RFQs by identifying all required materials, machining/fabricating steps, outsourcing and handling.

• Utilize 2D Drafting, 3D modeling & CAM software as required to assist with Estimating and creating technical drawings/resources for quoting and work packages.

• Work with Production & Quoting teams to review estimates for accuracy and efficiency.

• Work with vendors to source material and services while negotiating best price and delivery to meet our customer's expectations.

• Communicate and visit with customers regularly to uphold and improve our partnerships.

• Work with Purchasing, & Quality to turn won estimates into detailed work packages that can be clearly communicated to our Production team.

• Continually analyze job progress/ execution with Production team to compare Estimates to Actuals to improve our services to our customers.

• Coordinate with other members of our team to generate sales/ new opportunities and provide excellent customer service.

• Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives.

• Further enhance company culture.

• Perform special projects & other duties in support of the organizations business objectives.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years Estimating experience in Manufacturing sector such as Steel Processing/ Industrial/ Marine/ Nuclear/ Energy etc.

• Advanced technical diploma/ bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.

• Experience working in ERP/CRM software.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Proficient in reading and writing English.

Additional Assets Considered:

• General Machinist Ticket

• Ability to use 2D CAD/CAM or 3D modeling software.

• Ability to design mechanical components or systems.
