Position Title: Senior Developer - Fixed Income Trading

Line of Business: Fixed Income

Est. Start Date: 6/1/2025

Duration: 6 months (Possibility of Extension and conversion)

Possibility of conversion to FTE: Y

Working Location: GTA based - may require to be in office at 100 King st W Toronto 100% remote currently but candidates will need to be able to go in for occasional events and meetings

Role Mandate:

CLIENT aspires to build best-in-class platform for our Fixed Income trading desk covering a wide spectrum of Investment Grade and

High Yield bonds to serve the growing needs of our clients globally. Our vision is to build industry-leading fixed income trading platform using modern software development principles to allow for adaptability, future growth, and integration with both external systems and CLIENT's proprietary pricing/risk tools.

We are searching for a senior developer with extensive experience building complex software solutions to join our team and help us on our current initiatives. This role will work closely with the team of developers, business analysts, product managers, production support teams to execute both short-term tactical and long term goals.

Role Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Provide leadership and innovative ideas with respect to development design and integration with other components

• Quickly adjust, redesign and adapt design and functionality based on the frequent feedback from traders and other stakeholders

• Build effective partnership with other team members and key stakeholders to establish productive, mutually respective work environment

• Build high-quality documentation artifacts (solution diagram, trade flow, current vs target state, etc.) as required by CLIENT standards

• Maintain current trading systems, provide system enhancement and production support

• Effectively unit-test own software deliverables, participate in planning and execution of test suites

• Partner with others in the organization to advance CLIENT's overall IT capabilities in the areas of real-time messaging, application integration, application high-availability, other

Must-Have Skills:

• 7+ years of demonstrated experience developing complex software solutions serving the needs of large geographically dispersed organizations

• True Agile practitioner, can start with a concept and rapidly change to arrive at the end result

• Experienced in system development with high performance, real time streaming, data update, highly integrated with backend internal & external services (TCP, HTTP, MQ, FIX)

o FIX experience a must

• Experienced in software languages: Java, Python, C++, and Oracle database,

• DevOps, CI/CD Git, Linux server, Shell scripting, Windows server

• Work experience in Capital Markets - FI Income, Credit trading, rates is an asset

• Work experience in large Capital Markets trading platforms (Bloomberg TOMS, FIS BondOne, Calypso, WSS ) is an asset

• Equally effective partnering with all levels including senior technology and business stakeholders, and other members of the team

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice to Have Skills:

• AWS software development an asset

Interviews:

• 1st round with hiring manager

• 2nd round technical interview with hiring manager's supervisor

• Candidate's should be able to speak to the skillsets on their resume as they will be expected to demonstrate the indicated skillset
