Data Governance Consultant / Business Analyst
Leading Financial Institution Capital Markets Hybrid (3 days in office)
Our client is a premier Capital Markets group based in Canada, providing comprehensive credit, capital markets, investment banking, merchant banking and research services to clients globally.
We're seeking an experienced Data Governance Consultant / Business Analyst to lead data management activities for assigned Asset Classes and Data Domains. Reporting to the Data Governance & Transformation Lead, you'll coordinate business and technology stakeholders to implement data management frameworks across all activities.
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance Program Delivery:
- Lead delivery streams to bring priority datasets under governance
- Implement metadata management, data quality controls, and access management
- Organize working groups and manage stakeholder relationships across seniority levels
- Provide data expertise to support business decision-making
Data Management Thought Leadership:
- Lead strategy for specific data management expertise areas
- Provide expert guidance to the Data Team and wider stakeholders
- Collaborate with other divisions to define enterprise approaches
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Experience:
- Capital Markets Front Office experience, preferably in change initiatives
- Strong knowledge of trade/market data, OTC derivatives, risk management, and PnL
- Understanding of financial regulations (BCBS239, Dodd Frank, EMIR, MiFID)
- Experience with data management principles and practices
- Strong understanding of data structures and lifecycle
