Position Title: Manager of Quality and Regulatory
Reports To: President
Department: Quality Assurance
A - POSITION DESCRIPTION
1. Scope of Position: The Manager of Quality and Regulatory will lead the quality assurance and regulatory compliance efforts at Olli Brands Inc. This role is responsible for developing and implementing quality management systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations including The Cannabis Act, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of product quality and safety.
2. Key Responsibilities:
a. Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
b. Ensure that all products meet quality specifications and comply with internal policies and external regulations.
c. Oversee compliance with applicable regulations, including health and safety, environmental, and industry-specific standards (e.g., FDA, ISO).
d. Prepare for and manage regulatory inspections, audits, and certifications.
e. Lead initiatives to improve product quality, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
f. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and compliance.
g. Provide training and support to employees on quality assurance practices, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement methodologies.
h. Foster a culture of quality awareness and accountability across all departments.
i. Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to ensure that quality standards are integrated into all processes.
j. Work closely with marketing and sales teams to address customer feedback and quality-related concerns.
k. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in quality management and regulatory compliance.
l. Lead quality improvement projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and product quality.
m. Prepare and present quality and regulatory performance reports to the President.
n. Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in quality assurance and compliance.
3. Key Relationships:
a. President: Reports directly and collaborates on strategic quality and regulatory initiatives.
b. Executive Team: Works closely with other departments to ensure alignment on quality and compliance objectives.
c. Quality Assurance Team: Leads and develops the quality assurance team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
d. Regulatory Agencies: Engages with external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and effective communication.
4. Decision-Making Authority: The Director of Quality and Regulations has the authority to make decisions regarding quality assurance processes, regulatory compliance, and resource allocations within established guidelines. Major changes in strategy or policy require the President's approval.
5. Problem-Solving Responsibility: Responsible for identifying and resolving complex quality and regulatory challenges. Requires strong analytical skills to assess data and provide effective solutions.
B - POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
1. Formal Education and Training:
a. Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Engineering, or a related field is required.
b. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ, CQE, CQA) are preferred.
2. Work Experience:
a. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality assurance and regulatory compliance roles, with at least 2-5 years in a leadership position.
b. Proven track record of managing quality management systems and ensuring regulatory compliance.
3. Other Key Skills/Product Knowledge:
a. Strong leadership and team management skills.
b. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
c. Proficient in quality management software and regulatory compliance tools.
d. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

2. Supervisory Responsibility: The Director of Quality and Regulations supervises the quality assurance team and is responsible for the overall performance and development of team members.
D - WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an office and production environment with standard working hours. Some travel may be required for regulatory inspections, audits, and industry events.
