We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative R&D Systems Engineer to design, develop, and optimize ultra-high frequency (UHF) ultrasound transducers (400+ MHz) for use in Acoustic Micro Imaging (AMI) systems.

Our technology enables non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of the most advanced materials, including microelectronics, MEMS, and composite structures.

You'll be working at the leading edge of imaging, helping us detect internal material flaws that traditional inspection methods cannot see.

Job Function

  • Design and develop custom ultrasound transducers optimized for ultra-high frequency operation (400+ MHz) for precision flaw detection.
  • Model and simulate acoustic and electromechanical performance using tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics, PZFlex, or KLM models.
  • Prototype transducers including material selection (LiNbO , ZnO), acoustic matching layers, and lens design.
  • Characterize and test transducers in the lab, measuring key parameters like impedance, bandwidth, sensitivity, beam profile, and resolution.
  • Integrate and validate transducers within complete imaging systems for specific semiconductor and advanced material inspection applications.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, signal processing teams, and materials scientists to refine designs based on application needs.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in ultrasound transducer design and development, preferably for high-frequency imaging applications (acoustic microscopy, scanning acoustic imaging, or medical imaging).
  • Strong understanding of RF principles and ultrasound transduction at high frequencies.
  • Proficiency with simulation and modeling software such as COMSOL, ANSYS, PZFlex, or Matlab.
  • Skills in Transducer material selection and handling (LiNbO , ZnO) and High-frequency RF circuit understanding and Acoustic matching and impedance modeling and Laboratory transducer characterization will be huge.
