Can-Tech Services is looking for a Quality Engineer for one of our reputable Manufacturing clients in Vaughan.

Our client is a leading manufacturer that develops customized high-performance HVAC systems for vehicles and machinery in construction, agriculture, forestry, mining, material handling and utility vehicle industries, making the driest or wettest surroundings and the most extreme hot or cold weather unnoticeable. Their premium products are relied upon to provide a comfortable climate, exceeding our customers' expectations.

Position: Quality Engineer.

Position Type: Permanent/Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 8-4.30pm).

Pay: $75,000 - $85,000 annually.

Location: Vaughan, ON

Status: PR/Canadian Citizen

Job description:

The quality engineer will mainly focus on maintaining and improving the quality assurance and quality controls at the facility. The QE will:

  • Manage customer quality/warranty requirements and alert internal teams where necessary.
  • Lead cross functional team to perform analysis and implementation of decided measures related to customers.
  • Perform customer root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action to support.
  • Lead customer quality/warranty meetings onsite or at customer location.
  • Utilize Quality problem solving tools (Fishbone, 5Why, 8D, etc.) to support detailed failure analysis.
  • Participate in Audit program (ISO, Layered/ Process, and product)
  • Participate in cross-functional team reviews associated with New Product launches and Pilot runs.
  • Completing all required customer APQP related activities and PPAP submissions
  • Support the development of PFMEA, Control Plans and Work Instructions.
  • Manage customer change management activity (ECN, Deviations & Process Changes), and provide notification to the customer where required to support the change.
  • Assist in training production personnel on Quality & Inspection procedures, measuring equipment/tools and new technologies to support product quality.
  • Participate in various multi-disciplined teams in addressing and fulfilling various plant objectives/continuous improvement associated with quality, environmental, warranty, productivity, safety and delivery.
  • Proficient in hands-on quality, process troubleshooting and proving production with "fast response."
  • Other tasks as required.

Required knowledge:

  • Microsoft Office 365. MRP Software (PdMain) an asset
  • Able to read drawings/specifications/ technical documents
  • Familiar with AIAG Core quality tools (PFMEA, SPC, APQP, PPAP)
  • 8D, 5 Why analysis for problem solving
  • Good communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Experience supporting ISO quality and environmental programs (ISO9001, ISO14001)

Education:

  • BASc Engineering Degree or Engineering Technology Diploma
  • Certified Quality Engineer preferred

Experience:

  • 3+ Years as a Quality Engineer in a fast-paced manufacturing /automotive environment. Experience in the HVAC field is an asset.
