We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative engineering leader who thrives on building systems, leading people, and driving real results in manufacturing. Reporting to the President and COO, the Director of Engineering will play a pivotal role in shaping our engineering function, from strategy and design to process optimization and team development.
This role is perfect for someone who wants to move beyond just managing projects-and instead make a long-term, meaningful impact across the business. We're looking for a builder. A developer. A leader who gets fired up by solving real-world problems, leading high-performing teams, and helping manufacturing run smoother, faster, and better.
Why This Role Could Be a Game-Changer for You
- You're Not Just Running a Department-You're Shaping the Future.
This isn't a maintenance gig. You'll be setting the course for how our company engineers solutions, innovates on the floor, and shows up for our customers.
- A Seat at the Table, a Voice That's Heard.
You'll work directly with the President and COO, playing a hands-on role in strategic decisions and long-term planning-not just execution.
- You're Leading a Team That's Ready for More.
We've got talent. What we need is a leader who can unlock potential, build systems that scale, and help our engineers grow into top performers.
- You Get to Build Systems That Work.
Tired of bandaid fixes or outdated processes? Here, you'll be empowered to design and implement the right tools, workflows, and SOPs-then actually see them used.
- We Want You to Bring Your Whole Self to the Table.
Got a passion for Lean, automation, mentorship, or process redesign? We're all ears. We value engineering leaders who bring depth, curiosity, and energy.
- Real Products, Real Impact.
We manufacture heavy material handling equipment-conveyors and components that matter to our customers. Your designs go from screen to shop to site.
- A Leadership Culture That Respects the Work.
This isn't corporate. It's solution-focused, no-nonsense, and all about collaboration, integrity, and getting things done.
- Pay That Reflects Your Value.
With a salary range of $160,000 to $190,000, we're competitive-but we're also open to tailoring benefits, incentives, and other support to align with what drives you.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and designers, building a culture of accountability, innovation, and growth.
- Oversee engineering design and development for drag chain conveyor systems and related components.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, increase speed, and align designs with customer needs.
- Establish and implement core processes, SOPs, and department standards that improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Own and manage real-time engineering schedules, ensuring milestones are met and projects are delivered on time.
- Review and approve engineering drawings and documentation before release to production.
- Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment between engineering output and customer expectations.
- Implement and manage engineering document control systems, including PDM software.
- Support new product development initiatives and integrate new tools or technology to keep us ahead of the curve.
- Oversee engineering safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Support quality assurance by reviewing incoming vendor products and addressing non-conformance issues.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, including leadership in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in mechanical design, steel fabrication, machining, and welding processes.
- Deep expertise in SolidWorks and other CAD tools.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and develop people.
- Experience with ERP systems and engineering document control.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- A natural curiosity and drive to make things better-every single day.
If you're an engineering leader who wants more than just a job-if you want to build something that matters-we'd love to talk.
