Job Description:

The Analyst will provide a range of analytical/process support, reporting, analytics and assist in the generation of various tax slips and filings with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Revenue Quebec (RQ). The Analyst will also work to investigate, improve, and redesign existing processes and pain points within the Registered Plans and Mutual Funds Tax production space. Your high energy and desire to invoke change will enable you to find creative solutions that not only optimize the efficiency of existing processes but also improve employee engagement and satisfaction.

You are a leader with a keen sense of finding the root cause of problems by sifting through data as well as strong interpersonal skills to lead change within diverse teams and skillsets. You are driven to succeed in a dynamic and changing Wealth Management environment to drive competitive advantage within the Operations functions at TD Wealth.

Tax Production:

Support and assist in the generation of ad hoc queries, monthly reporting for various reconciliations, and work with Operations, Wealth Partners, Technology and Vendors to scope, test, and review Tax UAT and production cycles and leverage available technologies.

Generate various Tax slips and filings with CRA/RQ as required and provide Partners with necessary calculations related tax financial information

Support and assist in the production of various registered plans and Mutual Funds tax products, gathering of RRSP withdrawals, RIF payments or mutual fund income payment data and tax allocation information from Fund Accountants for various Tax reporting.

Process Optimization:

Drive continuous improvement of the current state Tax Production model service level agreements (SLA) to enhance the client experience and operational efficiencies

Analyze current state processes and perform root cause analysis for any breaks and gaps in process, including but not limited to:

Finding Data integrity or quality issues

Independently drive change and solutions for all identified root causes.

Take a risk-based approach in applying innovative solutions to unique problems in differing lines of business and tax products

Liaise and drive change between multiple stakeholders (Technology, Business Architecture, Operations, Wealth Business lines etc.)

Recommend and summarize improvements to Management and senior leadership

Job Requirements :

Understanding of Canadian Federal and Provincial Tax Act as it pertains to registered and non-registered tax products, such as T550, T3GR, RC249, RRSP Contribution Receipts, 60J, 60L, TFSA, T4RSP/REL2, T4RIF/REL2, T4A/REL1 for RESP and RDSP, T3/REL16, T5/REL3 & T5008/REL18 for TD Mutual Funds/Structured Notes

Knowledge of Canadian tax reporting requirements on

Death of an TFSA/RRSP/RRIF annuitant

Non-qualified investments held in a registered account

Unclaimed property and Uncashed cheque

Experience in using TaxPrep software to prepare of tax forms and/or T3 tax returns

Withholding tax remittances and reconciliations with CRA/RQ

Data literacy, process optimization, data technology tools.

Intermediate-Advanced Level Excel: write functions ulas, manage data, able to find easier way to complete work, creativity and willing to learn

Drive change and solutions for root causes that they identify

Drive continuous improvements and perform root cause analysis (find data integrity issues, fix data, identify outdated processes and technology used, and provide recommendations)

1-3 years' work experience in analytical roles (data analysis, Operations Analyst, data validation, reporting, and analytics techniques)

A general understanding of Banking Operations and interest in financial services

Education: taxation, accounting, finance, computer science, business, mathematics, stats, or related field with 1-3 years' experience as tax analyst/associate, business analyst or related

Nice to have

Experience in using ISM, RPM, SEI, Unitrax (GIF II), SMS and Funds360 systems would be an asset.
