What you'll do

We are transforming our contract management approach through the implementation of the BC Hydro Contract
Management Practice designed to provide strong oversight on contract compliance and contractor performance ultimately
delivering strong services for our business groups and delivering value for BC Hydro. Strong contract and performance
oversight supports meeting the business' requirements for quality, safety and reliability producing the best total cost and
ensuring mutually beneficial supplier relationships.

The Contracts & Field Management (CFM) department is accountable for managing the contract functions related to the
efficient delivery of services, managing contractor performance and compliance as well as realizing strategic benefits. We
are accountable for the oversight of contracts for key services that account for over 80% of BC Hydro's annual $2 billion
expenditures.

The Contracts Professionals will provide post award and pre award contract management services including but not limited
to:

- Review and manage contractual obligations of the parties and provide continual review to ensure that all terms and
conditions are met; monitor contract performance, including the reporting and status of contractor and BC Hydro
deliverables.
- Engage with applicable stakeholders and Contract Management to support resolution of contract issues, including change
management, contract disputes and claims management / resolution.
- Perform day to day contract management activities including, but not limited to, attending and/or chairing progress
meetings, preparing and issuing meeting minutes, monitoring schedules, expediting, drafting of change documents as
required, facilitate change processes, negotiations, support negotiation of claims and disputes as required, forecasting,
accrual reporting, validation of payment requests, tracking of contract submittals and other deliverables, monitor document
controls and contract interpretation.
- Assists in the design and implementation of innovative strategies to enhance vendor management and optimize BCH's
contract spend.
- Key success factors for the role include the ability to work with and influence others (both internal and external
stakeholders), the ability to understand and optimize detailed contract terms and conditions and the ability to implement
continuous improvements to streamline processes.

What you bring

- Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline such as Engineering, Construction/Project Management, Law, or related
discipline. A combination of education, professional training and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of seven years progressive experience managing complex construction contracts. Candidates with lesser
qualifications may still be considered.
- Strong technical background or experience in Line Construction are considered an asset.
International Association of Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) Certification to Associate level is an asset.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, communications, negotiating, project management, planning and organizational
skills.
- Demonstrated experience in successful change management initiatives.

- Proficiency with MS Office including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Knowledge and experience with Unifier, SharePoint and SAP applications are an asset.
