Explore your next role:

As a key member of the SRMS - Document Administration department the Document Development Specialist will report to the Manager, Safety & Risk Management, and will be responsible to administer the development of new Company documentation and the evolution of the Compendium of Policies and Procedures (CPP) The Document Development Specialist will enable the documentation of company compliance obligations through policy and procedure, logically organized within the CPP, and referenced accordingly in the Master Compliance Matrix. The Document Development Specialist will administer the management of, and be an expert in, the Master Compliance Matrix. This is a full-time, permanent position located at our North Bay, ON facilities.
Administer the development/creation of new Company Documentation through liaising with the Document owners/author to ensure all company regulatory and other obligations are documented through policy and procedure. Maintain the Master Compliance Matrix database to ensure all compliance obligations for all Company functions are documented and referenced accordingly.
Ensure appropriate placement and incorporation of new documents into the Compendium of Policies and Procedures (CPP)
Support the mapping of process flows for the purpose of documenting relevant procedures, enabling the building of effective processes.
Liaise with the Director, Safety & Risk Management and the Environment for regular progress updates related to ongoing projects and overriding objectives.
Build and maintain templates for Document Development processes.
Edit, format, distribute, and maintain Compendium of Policies and Procedures (CPP) documents (manuals, directives, and forms)
Review company documentation as requested for adherence to company standards and for administrative errors Submit regulatory CPP documents and training programs to Transport Canada, or other regulatory bodies, for approval or review as applicable.
Review applicable compliance source materials to support the documentation of policy procedure by the Subject Matter Expert

Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:
Post secondary education: document management, records management, computer science, library science, or related field.
At least 3-5 years of experience in development/creation of Company Documentation
Complete tasks accurately and efficiently with high attention to detail.
Advanced level of competency in MS Office
High level of competency in Adobe
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to quickly learn new programs.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to identify solutions.
Able to learn and retain knowledge and skills shared by senior staff.

Eligibility:

You must be legally eligible to work for a Canadian company (e.g., be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or possess a valid work permit) and provide a clear Criminal Background Check.
