General Accountabilities:

The HR Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Human Resources department, in a fast-paced ever-changing environment. The HR Coordinator assists in the recruitment cycle and full onboarding process for all unionized and nonunion positions that are required. The incumbent is responsible for promoting the KMC safety culture, adhering to all provincial and federal laws, KMC policy, internal controls, and practices, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and upholding the vision, values and mission of the Company. The successful incumbent will be required to travel to project sites from time to time.

Specific Accountabilities:

Ensure all pre-employment activities are completed such as site activations with the Site Owners, reviewing of files, pre-employment drug testing & medical clearances, arranging travel, updating union member status', communicating new-hire information to the appropriate people, collecting required hire on information, assigning onboarding training, etc.

Track and modify union employees' compensation to ensure employees are accurately compensated when they meet requirements. i.e. Apprentices, advancement

- Fill out new hire information

- Ensure new hire information is sent to payroll and correct wages are reflected

- Assist payroll with any questions or concerns they may have

Ensure individuals whose employment has been terminated are tracked and sent to the appropriate people.

- Seek out the notice of termination for employees who have been terminated or resigned

- Ensure it is accurate and all required areas are completed

- Send the information to the appropriate individuals ensuring timing and nature of termination are considered

Ensure system records are up to date and accurate. Ensure active and non-active files are maintained and significant records such as performance improvement plans are entered into the database and inserted into employee files.

Screen, select, help interview, and onboard personnel for all positions.

- Sort and gather resumes

- Review and create a shortlist

- Contact potential employee and arrange for interviews

Other duties as assigned.

A willingness to travel overnight up to 25% to project sites may be required.

Job Qualifications:

_Formal Education _

Human Resource Certification or related study in business

_Work Experience_

1 to 3 years of similar experience
