Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to join our team and lead operational finance, business intelligence, and data analytics. You will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of our company through insightful performance analysis and reporting and creating a culture around data analytics.

The Director FP&A will lead the development of a comprehensive set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to be utilized across the organization for performance management and reporting, work closely with the development team to build financial and operational dashboards, use automation tools to streamline business processes and lead the reporting to internal stakeholders, including partner dentists.

This role will be based from our Head Office in Downtown, Toronto. This is an on-site position.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Create a culture of data-driven decision making and innovation.
Collaborate with operations, finance, marketing, procurement, IT and HR teams to gather data requirements, understand business needs and ensure functional leaders have a deep understanding of their businesses and financial implications of all decisions
Establish performance reporting (daily, monthly, quarterly) and provide insights and recommendations to the senior leadership team, with a focus on quantifying the impact of value creation initiatives and external market factors on practice performance.
Lead the data analytics across the organization, including for operations, marketing and HR teams.
Develop a comprehensive set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with organizational objectives.
Work closely with the development team to build data definitions, create intuitive and actionable dashboards and ensure accuracy of data.
Lead the training and rollout of dashboards to corporate and practice level staff, ensuring effective utilization.
Continuously monitor and analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Partner with business unit leaders to evaluate key trends and identify profitable growth.
Providing leadership to drive system enhancements and operational improvements; lead high impact strategic initiatives and projects to enhance the reporting and analytical infrastructure.
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and analytics.
Identify and assess robotic process automation opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
Show a high degree of professionalism when dealing with practices and dentists, be and lead the team to be responsive and customer-service oriented.
Lead special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.

Education, Credentials, Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
CPA designation strongly preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience in FP&A, business intelligence and data analytics, with prior experience in a managerial role

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Strong understanding of data visualization principles and experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
Ability to interact with and lead data development teams
Advanced Excel skills, including the use of functions, power query, pivot tables, and macros, to manage, analyze, and report data
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
Proven track record of developing and implementing data-driven strategies that drive business results
Prior experience in the healthcare or dental industry is a plus
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
