Records Management SME
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Records Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. This intermediate-level position is ideal for someone who is passionate about records management and looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Records Management SME, you will play a crucial role in updating and implementing robust records management systems that comply with regulatory standards and support our organizational goals.

Records Management SME Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
1. Update, develop, and implement records management policies, processes, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
2. Oversee the storage, retrieval, and disposal of records across various formats (physical and digital).
3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, compliance, IT, and business units, to ensure proper management of records and information assets.
4. Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor compliance with records management policies and identify areas for improvement.
5. Provide training and support to staff on records management best practices, including proper handling and retention of records.
6. Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers supporting the organization's records management activities.
7. Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and regulations related to records management and information governance.
8. Act as a point of contact for internal and external inquiries regarding records management practices and policies.
9. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on the status of records management initiatives and compliance efforts.

Records Management SME Mandatory Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in records management or information governance in a medium to large organization, preferably in the financial services industry.
- In-depth knowledge of records management principles, practices, and standards, including ARMA International standards and Canadian regulations (e.g., Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act - PIPEDA).
- Experience with records management software systems and electronic document management systems (EDMS).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and policies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

Records Management SME Desired Skills
- Bachelor's degree in records and information management, library science, business administration, or a related field.
- Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation or other relevant professional certification is highly desirable.
