Position: Geotechnical Driller

Location: Barrie/Utopia

Shift Time: 6am-4pm(flexible to work until 6pm when needed)

Payrate: $28-32/hour

Job Roles and Duties (Must have 2-3 years of experience)

Directing the driller's assistant in any way required for the completion of the daily tasks including (but not limited to) the following:

1. Being aware of potential hazards and controls to individual job sites

2. Ensuring the use of proper PPE by all entering job site

3. Evaluating tasks being performed by helper

4. Maintaining a safe workplace

Ensuring the safety of the assistant and protecting company assets to the best of their ability
Working in loud environments such as machine shops, operating heavy equipment, compressors and generators
Ability to lift drilling equipment between 50 - 100 lbs below and above waistline using safe lifting techniques
Ability to work in bright light conditions (winter and daytime) as well as dark conditions (night time) operations
Ability to bend, sit, rotate and raise continuously throughout the day
Ability to operate heavy equipment (+ lbs) safely
Loading and unloading of drilling supplies and equipment
Perform simple mathematical calculations
Consciousness of surroundings as equipment, cables and machinery can come into contact with head and body of workers
Maintaining the cleanliness of job site and equipment
Backfilling of boreholes and cutting removal
Driving company vehicles and equipment to, from and around sites
Safe, clean and organized storage of all hand tools and equipment
Locating and plotting accurate and logical travel routes to and from sites
Maintaining an accurate and up to date MTO logbook according to legislation
Completing weekly and daily documentation and paperwork required by employer/client
Wearing and maintaining all personal protective equipment (PPE)
