Island Health is hiring a permanent full-time Clinical Coordinator .
In this nursing leadership role , the Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the public health services. Providing leadership to the multi-disciplinary team, this position coordinates and facilitates daily clinical activities, ensuring effective use of resources.
Responsibilities include:
Act as the communication liaison between members of the multi-disciplinary team, as well as other health care professionals and administrative personnel outside the health unit/service.
Supervise and evaluate staff, provide leadership and function as a role model and coach to assist staff with professional development and achievement of health unit/service goals.
Take a long range view of operations and service delivery and follow through on issues that impact on the overall quality of client care provided.
Develop policies and procedures/standards for operationalizing client care at health unit/service level.
Contribute to the monitoring and development of the operating plan.
Provide leadership within the unit/service for quality and risk management activities.
Financial Incentives
This position qualifies for the following financial incentives:
Rural and Remote Incentive of $15,000 after employment in position commences, in exchange for 3-year Return of Service Commitment.
Up to $2,000 per year reimbursement of professional development fees (to a max of $8,000, in years 2-5 of employment).
Up to $2,000 in quarterly retention incentives for regular employees in North Vancouver Island (up to $8,000 annually).
To join our team, you will have
a bachelor's degree in Nursing (Master's degree in Nursing is an asset);
registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant;
five years of recent related experience, including two years of relevant public health nursing experience and two years of supervisory experience; and
a valid BC driver's licence.
