Job Summary

We are currently hiring experienced Landscape Maintenance Crew Leads. The position will be starting up in approx. the beginning of April (weather dependent) and continue year-round.

The role of the Maintenance Crew Lead is to oversee the daily operations of the maintenance crew. They will supervise the maintenance crew which will range from 2- 4 crew members. This position will ensure that the sites are maintained to a high standard and that all required services are completed.

A successful Maintenance Crew Lead effectively utilizes available resources, including apps, software, materials, and equipment, to optimize productivity. They maintain accurate timesheets, monitor work quality, and prioritize team safety through comprehensive training, information sharing, and feedback mechanisms.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following;

Shop/Yard and equipment responsibilities
Plan and assist with crew and equipment deployment to their assigned sites.
Track scheduled equipment maintenance for equipment assigned to their specific project and assist if necessary. Review weekly.
Ensure equipment is ready to be used on projects. Communicate any issues to the whole team and on the equipment channel on Slack.

Team Responsibilities
Assists in managing the team by helping with orienting, and training employees assigned to their site. All Star Landscaping encourages a 'Coaching' mentality for ourselves and supervisors.
Assists in developing employee growth and development in regards to Landscaping and job execution at the direction of the YYC Field Manager.
Contributes to and understands the shop and site and job safety.
Follow all required procedures (LMN Time, Keep Trucking, Slack and Site docs).
Provides real time objective feedback to team members to improve quality and consistency on job sites.
Field level leadership

Project and Work Responsibilities
Know and understand individual site requirements for each customer.
Evaluates Job scope and plans accordingly
Maintain productivity and stay up to date on deadlines and changes for assigned sites.
Contributes to team effort by assisting with other projects when needed.
Assists with customer service by providing clear communication to management.
Monitor site progress and be able to communicate clearly to management.
Assists with managing maintenance labour budgets and improving job efficiency.
Quality control

General Responsibilities
Know and understand the All Star Landscaping 3 primary core values (1. Quality and Efficient Craftsmanship, 2. Constant and transparent communication, 3. Continuous Learning and Improvement).
Possess exemplary honesty and integrity.
Completes all safety requirements required by All Star Landscaping and specific customer requirements.
Ensures a safe, secure, and legally compliant work environment at the shop/yard, during travel and onsite.
Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.

Qualifications / Skills:
Minimum 5 years experience completing maintenance with minimum 1 season of crew lead experience.
Must maintain in good standing the following minimum tickets: WHMIS, CSTS, First Aid.
Mowing grass, edging, weeding, pruning.
Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, aerators and power rakes.
Time Management in regards to personal time and managing crews and their time management.
Results driven.
Ability to problem solve.
High degree of communication skills.
Handles pressure and is adaptable to changing situations and plans.

Education Requirements: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Certificates and tickets relevant to the Landscape industry.
