Project Coordinator - Construction & Engineering

Overview:
Our client is a provincial crown corporation responsible for delivering utility services to the majority of businesses and residences.
Our client is in need of several experienced Project Coordinators to join their existing Project Delivery Office to help ensure the timely and on-budget delivery of major Capital Projects associated with the new generation, capital upgrades, and decommissioning of legacy facilities.
This is an initial 3-year contract with 2 option years (5 years total) to be partially remote, but primarily on-site at the client's Regina offices, and other facilities throughout the province.

Major Responsibilities:

Assist PM in creating project status reports and establishing trends:
Gather and assemble project cost and schedule data as required by the Project Manager - Review output to ensure validity of the data
Compile all pertinent information into regular reports and circulate to various levels of management.
Assist PM in tracking the progress of the project
Assist PM in change and risk management
Collaborate with project team members and stakeholders to identify and manage project scope.
Maintain effective work relationships with co-workers and staff in other departments and business units
Interface with various personnel associated with the management and administration of capital projects
Respond to queries from both internal and external sources
Be cooperative and tactful when communicating with others
Work within the corporate values of respect, integrity and openness
Assist PM in procurement management and material coordination
Assist PM with project meetings
Create and update scheduling data, and follow up on the progress of activities with the responsible department.
Work in the PS module within the SAP
Work with the Project Manager to prioritize work to meet deadlines and time constraints.
Assist PM in day-to-day work (word processing, excel spreadsheets, powerpoint presentations, etc.)
Flexibility to work independently or as part of a team
Practice and promote safe work habits
Perform other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications

University degree / Technical Diploma / Certificate in business administration/project management
Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
Demonstrated ability in utilizing a variety of computer applications, especially advanced skills in Word /
Excel / PowerPoint / Visio.
Working knowledge of SAP is an asset.
Previous project management, and/or Primavera P6 Scheduling experience would be a definite asset.
Minimum 1 year experience in Project management support.
Must have a continuing record of career development.
Good command of the English language (both oral and written)
