Assistant Controller

Position Overview:

Lambert Nemec Group, Winnipeg's leader in Permanent Recruitment, has partnered with our client in the search for an Assistant Controller. Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller is responsible for supporting the business in the preparation financial statements. Assist with the period end close process whiling supporting Ad-hoc reporting as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Complete month end closing procedures.

• Support the leadership team to prepare budgets and perform variance analysis on budget to actual.

• Develop, report and improve key performance indicators for operational and corporate goals.
• Oversee the AP, AR team.

• Prepare monthly and quarterly government remittances.

• Produce ad hoc financial and operational reports and perform the associated analysis.

• Assist on special projects.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate will possess a recognized Canadian accounting designation, CPA (CA, CGA CMA)

• 2 plus years of full cycle accounting experience with strong technical accounting knowledge.

• An organized and strong communicator with good interpersonal skills that is strong at overcoming challenges and meeting deadlines.

• This is an in office role with emergency flex as needed

Rewards:

• Base salary $70K - $90K DOQ
