RESPONSIBILITIES & COMPETENCIES
Pre-Turnaround Planning: Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Inspection, and Maintenance to thoroughly understand the scope of work. Review and discuss work lists and schedules with contractor foremen to ensure clarity and preparedness.
Field Supervision and Safety Compliance: Spend 85-90% of work time in the field, directly supervising contractor activities to drive effective and lean execution of tasks. Act as a HSSE leader by setting safety examples, following Life Saving Rules, and actively intervening to correct safety issues.
Schedule and Progress Monitoring: Ensure daily tasks are executed according to plan, regularly reviewing and confirming schedule accuracy with foremen. Identify and swiftly eliminate any barriers that could impact the turnaround timeline or costs.
Quality and Environmental Management: Monitor all aspects of quality control within the assigned area, including material handling, flange tightness, and completion status. Execute environmental plans effectively, overseeing waste disposal and ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental policies.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed daily logs to document shift activities, including weather conditions, schedule deviations, and any critical issues. Report significant barriers to the Turnaround Unit Coordinator that cannot be addressed in the field.
Post-Turnaround Activities: Participate in walk-downs and sign-offs with operations upon job completion, ensuring all tasks meet the set standards and requirements.

The successful candidate needs to be well-organized, energetic, and service-oriented with the following qualifications:

Education and Experience: High School Diploma required; further certification in project management, engineering, or related fields preferred. Proven experience in a field coordinator role or a similar position within industrial or construction environments.
Safety and Environmental Knowledge: Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations. Experience in leading safety initiatives and conducting hazard assessments in industrial settings.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in overseeing large-scale projects, adept at scheduling, and quality control. Capable of issuing necessary permits and managing contractors effectively.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders, including contractors and operations staff. Ability to lead by example and enforce strict safety and quality standards.
Physical Requirements: Must be capable of climbing stairs and ladders, and physically fit to handle field duties in various weather conditions.
Certifications: Completion of relevant safety modules prior to commencement of assignment. Additional certifications related to environmental management or project supervision are an asset.
