Associated Grocers is seeking a full-time Transportation Dispatcher. This position is based out of the Transportation Department at our Grocery Warehouse located in Calgary, AB.
This position requires a high energy individual with a positive attitude and an all-star work ethic. The ability to follow established procedures and stay organized in a fast paced environment with ever changing priorities is a must.
The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment, perform under tight deadlines and have excellent customer service and negotiation skills. Applicants must be familiar with geography for the Alberta, BC & Saskatchewan areas. Applicants should also be familiar with load building, reefer operation, legal weight limits on extended length, tandem and tridem trailers. Knowledge of transportation hours of service regulations a must.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
Positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
A proven track record of being able to work well independently with little supervision
Ability to be an effective member of a collaborative team
Exceptional telephone manners, communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent command of the English language - both verbal and written
Demonstrated ability in sound judgment, critical thinking & problem solving
Highly organized and detail oriented, with ability to juggle multiple priorities
Intermediate computer skills, including Word, Excel & Outlook
