P ROGRAM DIRECTOR - BEFORE SCHOOL AND / OR AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

PLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization operating on a not-for-profit basis, providing high quality early learning and child care, for children up to 12 years of age. PLASP operates in more than 240 schools providing before school, lunch, and after school programs and 30 full-day early learning and child care centres and six EarlyON locations for children from 0 - 6 years.

THE POSITION

The successful candidate will provide a full range of duties, including:

Establishing and maintaining a safe, warm and caring environment in which a high-quality extended day program can operate
Planning, developing, and implementing programs of stimulating age appropriate activities for groups of children. Activities will promote their physical, social, emotional and intellectual well-being, in accordance with the _Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA)_, _How Does Learning Happen ? (HDLH?)_ and the guidelines established by PLASP for all program components including P.A. Days
Budgeting and ordering food for the program, preparing nutritious breakfast and snacks while adhering to the guidelines of the Canada Food Guide, and in accordance with the rotational snack planner
Supervising and training staff, Volunteers and Students on Placement (if applicable), by providing strong leadership, decision making and problem-solving skills and conducting regular performance appraisals
Responsible for all administration for the program, including registration, record-keeping, health and safety monitoring and ordering of supplies
Operating programs according to the _Ministry of Education_ _( MEDU )_ standards and ensures the CCEYA license is in good standing
Participating fully in P.A. Days, by providing safe, reliable care on and off school premises

T HE PREFERRED CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

A minimum 3 years' experience in child care and community service organization (experience in supervision of staff preferred)
Knowledge of the_ Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA)_ and _Ministry of Education_ Licensing requirements
An ECE degree/diploma and be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE) or have a Child Youth Worker/Care diploma (CYW/CYC) or Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) diploma.
A valid Standard First Aid Certificate, with level C CPR
A valid Criminal Reference Check - Vulnerable Sector
All health requirements (immunizations) to be met in accordance with the _CCEYA_ and Medical Officer of Health
