InTune Migration Consultant

The client is interested in hiring a Consultant to provide services to help the client migrate to Microsoft InTune. Microsoft InTune will enable us to secure and manage our devices, protect our data, and deploy and update our applications remotely.

InTune Migration Consultant Job Details

• Assess our current device and application environment and recommend prerequisites in order to migrate to Microsoft inTune along with requirements and challenges.

• Keeping in mind that the client is planning Windows 11 upgrade so we would want to take advantage or use inTune for our Windows 11 upgrade. Provide information on benefits and efficiencies along with ensuring inTune is tested with a few Windows 11 devices.

• Develop the Autopilot implementation: Working with the Desktop Architecture Team, establish the appropriate Autopilot device provisioning, and processes to support the upgrade to Windows 11 along with deploying devices from Dell Direct and other vendors (HP/Lenovo)

• Design and plan the Microsoft InTune deployment, including the configuration of policies, profiles, roles, and groups. Include end-to-end lifecycle management and possible integration with ServiceNow. Architectural review taking into consideration that we have federated services environment and hybrid tenancy in Microsoft Azure. Provide configuration and documentation around desktop application packaging & imaging along with managing MacOS environments.

• Develop mobile migration methodology: Working with the Desktop Architecture Team, develop the optimal migration process for the existing mobile devices from the current MDM solution (Workspace One) to Microsoft Intune, ensuring minimal disruption to users and maintaining security standards.

• Provide Intune design expertise: Play a key role during the design phase, focusing on device compliance policies, app protection policies, and Azure conditional access policies. Assist with installing and configuring the Microsoft InTune client on our devices and enroll them into the service, develop KPIs and geofencing. Assist with configuring inTune based actions - restart, remote control, factory reset, factory control.

• Test and validate the functionality and performance of Microsoft InTune on our devices and applications.

• Documentation and knowledge transfer: Contribute to the creation of Intune architecture and configuration documentation and provide knowledge transfer sessions to the IT team to ensure effective management and support post-implementation.

• Security and Compliance: Ensure that business data and applications on mobile devices are appropriately secured by implementing security best practices and compliance measures.

• Provide review and possibility of integration with Intel VPro and Panasonic Toughbook devices.

(Optional) Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Microsoft InTune, including troubleshooting, updates, and upgrades.

Key Deliverables:

1. Provide approach and if co-management should be considered based on our environment.

2. Provide a detailed breakdown of the costs and time estimates for each of the services listed above.

3. Provide a detailed description of how you would phase the implementation of Microsoft InTune, keeping in mind that we manage and image devices, would use inTune to image and deploy, package, and deploy software and push out updates, etc. Include information about the different phases of the project, the activities that will be performed in each phase, and the expected duration of each phase. Provide resources and time commitment required for client staff as part of the phases.

5. Produce weekly status reports, broken down into daily number of hours worked and by tasks, using the client's time tracking system. The reports must include reporting on work accomplished during the period and work planned for the next period. These will be printed, signed as being correct, and submitted to the clientby the Consultant.

6. Communicate assignment status in a timely and clear fashion to the appropriate member of the Senior Management of the IT Department and other client management, staff and other contractors or consultants involved in related IT assignments, as appropriate to the specific assignment.

7. Provide weekly updates on deliverables and impact of proposed changes to timelines.

8. Provide formal documentation, in accordance with the client's PMO methodologies and documentation standards.

9. Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to client staff on system set up, configuration and support requirements.

10. Desired end state is to decommission SCCM and Workspace One.

InTune Migration Consultant Mandatory Skills

Qualifications and Experience

• 8+ years of directly relevant experience in MDM (Modern Device Management) technology, consisting of Endpoint Management Tools like Intune (Autopilot), SCCM (CMG, Co-Management) in an Enterprise PC environment.

• 5+ years in a lead/senior engineering role.

• Certified on Modern Desktop Management, SCCM/Intune, Azure, any cloud certifications.

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications

1. Proven experience as a Technical Architect or similar role, with expertise in Intune, SCCM, and device management solutions.

2. Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, including Windows 10 and Windows 11.

3. Experience with mobile device management solutions, preferably Intune.

4. Proficiency in application packaging and deployment technologies.

5. Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.

6. Advanced PowerShell scripting skills.

7. Ability to author technical and operational management documentation including design and support docs, operational runbooks, internal knowledge base articles, etc.

8. Working experience with AD & Azure AD (Hybrid).
