LINE COOK - LOCATED IN CALEDON (ALTON), ONTARIO

We are currently hiring individuals to join our Food & Beverage team in the position of Line Cook for our 2024 season. The ideal candidate will bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work cooperatively with others to elevate the guest experience. This position will require the candidate to have a minimum 1-2 years of previous Line Cook experience working in a hotel/restaurant environment.

Responsibilities for this position will include:
Manage the line in an efficient, effective manner to ensure the completion of customer orders in a timely, consistent manner.
Inspect and ensure the quality of ingredients before cooking.
Taste and evaluate dishes to ensure they meet the restaurant's standards for flavor, texture, and presentation.
Cook food items in various kitchen equipment, such as grills, ovens, fryers, and stovetops.
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure that dishes are cooked properly.
Follow recipes and guidelines to maintain consistency in the quality of the dishes.
Daily opening and closing duties in the kitchen.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation within the Safe Food Handlers guidelines.
Collaborate with other members of the kitchen team to achieve common goals.
Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, chefs, and other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Notify supervisors of any equipment issues, shortages, or quality concerns.

Requirements:
Valid Safe Food Handlers Certificate.
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with staff and guests.
Organized with the ability to multi-task and assist in all kitchen operations.
Willingness to accommodate guest requests.
Ability to anticipate, prevent, and solve problems as necessary.
Passion for cooking and the desire to pursue a career as a cook.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion and work in a fast-paced environment.
1-2 years of previous Line Cook experience.
The ability to work a varied, flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Valid driver's licence.

Education and Qualifications:
Enrollment in a related college or post-graduate program is an asset.
Experience working in a restaurant or banquet facility an asset.

We would benefit from an experienced Cook with an eye for detail and passion for creativity. We have AM/PM/full-time/part-time shifts available and are willing to work with the right candidate to build an optimal schedule.
